  • What is the minimum age to become a pilot in Florida?

 

     There is not a minimum age to start flight training, however we recommend not before the age of 13 years old, but you must be at least 16 to solo and 17 to get your private pilot's license.

  • What do I need to do to start flight training in Florida?

 

     In order to start your flight training, you will need to secure a medical certificate. A Third-Class Medical is best suited for student pilots or private pilots. It is important to be prepared and understand the different types of medical certificates and any limitations, so you know what flight training and pilot certificates you qualify for. Research any conditions you have on your own and refer to the FAA Medical Exam Online Guide.​​

  • What level of English do I need to become a pilot in Florida?

 

     Since the language of aviation internationally is English, it is recommended to have at least a level 4  English standard before receiving your pilot license. 

  • What are the steps of flight training?

     1. Go on a discovery flight.

     2. Start your flight lessons.

     3. Gain an Aviation Medical Certificate.

     4. Prepare for and go on a Solo Flight.

     5. Fine-tune your skills, build time and gain more experience.

     6. Study for and take the written exam.

     7. Study for and take your check ride (final flight exam).

     8. Earn your private pilot's license.
